Motorola E815

Mot E815Yesterday the Motorola E815 that I order arrived.  I finally got it activated this morning.  It is exactly what I wanted.  It is a BlueTooth camera phone, that can sync with my Mac though iSync.

The interface is pretty much the same as my Motorola T730, but the screen is larger and has a higher resolution.  I had no problem having the phone recognized by my computer.

I actually took a test picture and wanted to figure out how to get it to my computer.  It looks like Verizon did not enable the file transfer profile, so I am not able to directly copy the images over.

There is a memory card slot, so if I put in a memory card, I would assume that I could copy the images to the card, and then could mount the card on my laptop.

I was able to send the photo with email.  I was thinking that I would be able to moblog with this.  But when I looked at the email, there was a large amount of text that was added to the message.  This would look pretty bad posted.  I am thinking that either I will either copy the images manually, or I will write a script that strips out the unwanted text.

  2. I recently got the E815 too, its a great phone. I highly suggest going to Howardforums.com and under the verizon forum learn about seem editing the E815. I have a a edited seem and all the trasfer functions, Including bluetooth file transfer now work. Also look into the pixplace alternative for emailing your photos to the web.

  3. Buy transflash card, 128MB at Circuit City, $24.
All pictures and videos and be transferred back and forth.
If you copy mp3/midi files to the transflash, you cannot directly move them to phone, but you can send a message to yourself, with the mp3/midis as an attachment. Then save from the message to ringtone area.

  4. I have no problem with bluetooth and isync on my e815, except that no matter what I do the contact names are first name/last name, and I need them to be last name/first name .... Any suggestions? I'd love an email answer to this, as I love the new phone and my new powerbook!
