Problem with Harmony

Tonight I updated our Harmony remote to change some key configuration.  After the configuration was installed on the remote the screen displayed the following message

Go to Website to update settings

It took awhile, but I finally figured out what was happening.  I had configured the Harmony Remote application to "Watch download folder".  The problem was that the application saw the file as soon as the Firefox created the file, but before the download finished.  So the Harmony application sent a partial file to the remote.

Once I turned off that setting and updated the settings again, the remote is working fine.

  1. I had the same problem w/ Firefox & my harmony too. This fixed it. Thanks Paul!

  2. Yup, my Harmony 880 was displaying the same message, and your tip really saved the day. Thanks!

  3. and where can i change this setting?

  4. You can change the setting in the Harmony Remote application. In the preference window, there is check bosk for "Watch download folder"

  5. Where is that setting using the 5.3.2 version of the Harmony Software?

  6. Version of the Harmony Remote software doesn't have this problem. Since they integrated the browser into the remote updating application, this problem doesn't happen any more.

  7. I have version 7.0.1 here and it definitely IS still happening.
After every update to the remote-control, I now have to remove the battery and reinsert it: very annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this in 7.0.1?

  8. I have v 7.0.2 and it still happens and removing the battery makes no difference. I'm just stuck with the message and no way to get out of it.
    Any ideas?
