Xbox and Windows Home Server

Paul Westbrook | 01 June, 2008 02:32

This is a pretty good article that describes how to serve up your content from your Windows Home Server to your Xbox.  It is working perfectly for me.

The one thing that I want to figure out is to have the video transcoded to play on the Xbox.  The Xbox only supports a relatively small subset of video formats.

Give http://www.runtime360.com/ a go as we use that with our 360 and it works really well. Pity Microsoft limit the fill formats so much.

Transcode360 [Reply]

The problem with Transcode360 is that it requires Windows Media Center. The Windows Home Server doesn't have the required components to run it.
