GlowWorm FW Lite

Paul Westbrook | 31 December, 2006 18:49

I had been using Little Snitch to prevent and notify me of outgoing network connections.  Ever since, I have upgraded to my Mac Book Pro, I have not be successful in running Little Snitch.

I just tried GlowWorm FW Lite.  This is an application that has the sam functionality.  When installed, you are notified of any outgoing network connections.  You then can accept or deny the connection, and then same this setting.

This works very well, and it is free.  The only thing that I would like to see changed is to have the main interface be a preference pane, instead of an application.

Preference Pane [Reply]

I considered the Preference Pane as a main interface. And at the time I decided that it was too limiting. And I probably could not presently argue that effectively.

However, the "main interface" as you call it is really just a plugin run by the GlowWorm.app shell. It should be relatively trivial to write a Pref Pane built on the same Framework. I can't promise I'll get around to it any time soon. So many other features to work on.... But I'll definitely keep it in mind.
